What is a single-use fax service?

A single-use (pay-per-fax) service lets you send one fax when you need it — IRS forms, clinic paperwork, a signed contract — without signing up for eFax-style monthly billing. SingleFax is built for that: one-time send from $0.99, or a 30-day inbound number if someone needs to fax you back.

How does SingleFax work?

SingleFax is a simple online fax service. You upload a file (PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RTF, plain text, or an image), enter a fax number, and click send. We convert your file into a PDF and send it to the recipient's fax machine. You'll receive a confirmation email once your fax has been successfully sent.

What file types can I fax?

PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RTF, plain text, and images (JPEG, PNG, TIFF, GIF, WebP, BMP, HEIC). We convert to PDF before sending. Email attachments are limited to 10MB raw; MCP base64 is 10MB; the website accepts up to 250MB × 10 files / 100 pages. You receive inbound faxes as a PDF.

How secure is SingleFax?

We use bank-grade 256-bit SSL encryption to secure your connection to SingleFax. All your details, including your uploaded files, are sent over an encrypted connection. Your faxes are stored securely and encrypted in your personal dashboard, which you can access anytime via a secure, passwordless magic link sent to your email. You can permanently delete your faxes at any time.

Why do I have to pay to send or receive a fax?

While some fax services are free, they often come with a catch. They may sell your data, serve you ads, or add their brand as a cover page to your fax. SingleFax does not do any of these things. We don't take any outside funding and are independently owned. We charge a small fee to cover our costs and keep the service running. You're also supporting an independent developer.

Is my payment information safe?

SingleFax does not have access to your payment information at all. Payments are processed by Stripe, a secure payment processor used by millions of businesses worldwide. Your payment is sent directly to Stripe, and we never see your credit card information.

Can I send and receive large faxes?

Yes. Retail sends support up to 100 billable pages per fax. Domestic base pricing is $0.99 for up to 10 pages, then about $0.08 per additional page. Destination adjustments may apply. For larger documents, email info@singlefax.com.

Can I send a fax by email?

Yes. Email a supported document to send@fax.delivery with the fax number in the subject. PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RTF, plain text, and images are converted to PDF before sending. Same $0.99 pricing — credits send instantly, otherwise we email a payment link. See how email-to-fax works.

How much does it cost to send or receive?

Sending starts at $0.99 for up to 10 billable pages (then ~$0.08/page, cap 100). A free 24-hour inbound number is available with a verified email (25 inbound pages / 30 days). A 30-day inbound number is $4.99 (first inbound included; extra inbound faxes $4.99 each). Plans from $9.99/mo or $99/yr. Optional lifetime from $97.

When am I charged for sending a fax?

We believe you should only pay on success. When you place an order, we place a temporary preauthorization hold on your card. If the fax is successfully delivered, we capture the charge. If delivery fails, we release the hold so you are never charged for a failed fax.

Are incoming faxes searchable?

Yes on paid inbound (30-day, lifetime, and monthly numbers). You get a searchable transcript and key fields (names, dates, document type) in the dashboard. Non-HIPAA email uses a short summary. 24-hour free numbers are one-tap Make searchable — not automatic. HIPAA Secure transcripts stay in the audited Secure dashboard after an electronic BAA; they are never emailed. Extracted fields are assistive — verify them against the fax PDF.

What happens if I send a fax to the wrong number?

Please double-check the fax number before sending. Once a fax is successfully delivered, it cannot be recalled and telecom carrier fees are incurred—so we cannot refund deliveries to the wrong number. Failed deliveries are different: under pay-on-success, we release the preauthorization hold and you are not charged.

What happens if the recipient's fax machine is turned off or not working?

We retry classified delivery failures up to 4 attempts over ~35 hours (immediately, then 3h / 8h / 24h). Please check your email for status updates and ask the recipient to check their machine. If the fax ultimately cannot be delivered, we release the preauthorization hold—you are only charged when the fax is successfully delivered.

Sent faxes are pay on success: failed delivery releases the hold; delivered faxes are not refunded. Fax numbers and plans have a 30-day money-back window. See our refund policy.
