HIPAA customers need an eligible Enterprise BAA workflow. For occasional sending, check the available credit offer and one-time alternatives before subscribing.

Checked **2026-10-08**. The free plan provides ten outbound pages **total**, with no receiving number. Paid plans include receiving; destination rates can consume multiple allowance pages. HIPAA with a BAA is Enterprise-only. An account is required.
A monthly allowance is not a single-fax capacity. A 90-page packet does not fit Basic's 60-page send cap merely because you have 200 pages available that month. Confirm the actual packet size and supported destination before selecting a plan.
## What the price means for your usage
### One ordinary fax
If your eligible packet fits the remaining free allowance, the free plan can be enough. That is a real advantage, especially when you do not need a return number or a BAA.
The official iOS listing also describes purchasing credit for occasional use; check the actual offered package and limits rather than assuming every paid send requires a subscription. If you choose a paid plan, one month of Basic costs $8.99 before extras. You are buying a month's plan and receiving capability, rather than paying only for that document. A single short SingleFax send costs $0.99. The free option is cheaper than either when it genuinely meets your needs.
### Twelve short faxes in a year
Assume one ten-document-page ordinary fax each month, no return number and no overage. SingleFax's one-time total is **12 × $0.99 = $11.88**. Continuous Fax.Plus Basic costs **$107.88** at monthly billing or the published **$83.99** annual bill.
The subscription includes more than those twelve transmissions. If you use its inbox, number, stored workflow or remaining pages, those benefits can justify the difference. If you will not use them, compare the annual commitment against your actual tasks.
### Three hundred pages each month
Using the listed rates and assuming all pages count one-for-one, Basic would cost **$8.99 + 100 × $0.10 = $18.99**. Premium is **$17.99** monthly with a larger allowance, so it is cheaper in this particular example.
Destination weighting, tax and extras can change that calculation. Receiving also uses the service's page allowance. Use your sent and received volume together, and check the current quote instead of selecting a plan solely by its headline rate.
## Pros and tradeoffs
There are practical reasons to shortlist Fax.Plus:
- A genuine starter sending quota can cover a small first task without a subscription.
- Paid receiving plans let you give correspondents a continuing number rather than repeatedly arranging temporary replies.
- Mobile apps and published integrations can fit a recurring office workflow.
- The pricing table exposes page caps and overage, making a usage estimate possible before signup.
The tradeoffs follow from the product structure. Annual pricing commits more money upfront. Lower plans have smaller packet caps. BAA support starts at Enterprise, so an inexpensive ordinary plan should not be used as a substitute for the regulated product.

## Is Fax.Plus safe and HIPAA compliant?
Fax.Plus publishes [HIPAA product information](https://www.fax.plus/hipaa-compliant-fax), and the plan page identifies the required Enterprise tier. Alohi also publishes a [privacy policy](https://www.alohi.com/privacy-policy). Review the selected account's agreement, access controls, retention and notification workflow against your organization's needs.
The relevant question is which product and agreement cover your use. A healthcare banner does not make every free or Basic account eligible for PHI. Obtain the BAA before disclosure where required, and check the authorized organization's details.
For individual ordinary documents, consider who can open your account and email, which files you upload and how long you need copies. A cloud fax workflow still requires destination verification and careful handling at the receiving end.
## Cancellation and number continuity
[Alohi's cancellation instructions](https://help.alohi.com/hc/en-us/articles/10104148398748-How-to-cancel-my-Fax-Plus-subscription-Avoid-Auto-Renewal-Charges) distinguish web billing from Apple or Google Play subscriptions. Web purchases use the web-account route; app-store purchases must be managed through the relevant store.
Cancellation stops renewal at the end of the current billing period. The guide says subscription payments and unused pages are not refunded simply because you cancel. It also describes loss of paid features and number use after the applicable hold period.
Save important faxes and the cancellation confirmation. If a number matters to your office, arrange and confirm its transfer before shutting down service. Deleting an app from your phone does not cancel its subscription.

For PHI, SingleFax HIPAA sending starts at $6.50 for up to ten document pages, with a BAA step. Standard plus the HIPAA add-on is $10.80 monthly or $108 billed annually. Compare the exact workflow rather than mixing an ordinary price with an Enterprise service.
## When Fax.Plus is the better choice
Choose Fax.Plus when its free quota fits, when your team already relies on its integrations, or when you need its higher-tier per-fax capacity. Both Fax.Plus and [SingleFax](https://apps.apple.com/app/id6810689541) offer native iPhone apps, so compare the complete fax cost and workflow when choosing between them.
A service migration has costs beyond its monthly invoice: number continuity, staff familiarity, exports and workflow changes. An existing plan that works well can be worth keeping, particularly if its allowance is already paid for and the next fax fits it.
For new occasional sending, start with the actual packet and destination. Do not choose a year of service solely to solve a one-document deadline unless the ongoing features also meet a real need.
