iFax Review 2026: Pricing, HIPAA, Trials and Alternatives

Updated
iFax offers platform apps, receiving numbers and business fax plans. Its website prices shown here require annual billing; app-store labels may describe different offers. Check the actual account’s pages, renewal terms, cancellation channel and BAA eligibility before choosing. A trial or inexpensive app label is not a full rate card.

$0.99 covers up to 10 pages, pay only if delivered.

How we compared

  • Sources: iFax's own pricing and product pages. For other providers, see the online fax service comparison.
  • Checked: 8 October 2026.
  • Not tested: no independent delivery benchmark.
  • We make SingleFax, a competing service.

Need to send an ordinary document? Review a one-time fax quote. $0.99 covers up to 10 pages, pay only if delivered.

Keeping your existing number when switching? Follow the fax number porting checklist and steps, and confirm release details with iFax before canceling. SingleFax port-ins require an eligible Standard or Business subscription; lifetime and 30-day plans do not accept port-ins.

iFax at a glance

The rendered official pricing page showed the following USD annual view. The monthly toggle did not establish separate monthly rates in our check, so we do not relabel these as month-to-month prices.

PlanDisplayed monthly equivalentBilling shownMonthly pagesReceiving

Plus$24.99Paid annually500One number, send and receive
Pro$33.33Paid annually1,000Adds workflow features

Checked 2026-10-08. The public view did not establish a universal overage price or per-fax cap for all these plans. Ask for those terms when pricing your packet. An account and the selected billing agreement are part of the service.

Annual equivalents show the rate spread over a year. They do not tell you that a single $12.49 payment purchases a year or that you can cancel after one month and recover the balance. Read the actual checkout amount and billing period.

What iFax costs for common workloads

One fax

A trial may cover an evaluation task if you qualify and follow its terms. It is not the same as a permanent free fax allowance. Record the end date, renewal rate and required cancellation channel before starting.

iFax also publishes a one-time fax page. The checked page discusses pay-per-fax generally but did not give a sufficiently clear iFax packet tariff for our comparison. We therefore do not invent a price or claim the provider has no one-time option. Inspect the selected checkout for the actual packet and destination.

For a separate short ordinary alternative, a SingleFax send starts at $0.99 for up to ten document pages. The comparison should be between the real one-time quote and the real subscription commitment, rather than an annual equivalent treated as a per-fax fee.

Twelve short faxes a year

Assume one ten-document-page fax per month, with no receiving or HIPAA requirement. Twelve one-time sends total $11.88.

Multiplying iFax's displayed Basic equivalent by twelve gives $149.88 as an illustrative annualized comparison. This arithmetic is not a separately verified annual invoice or checkout promotion. A year's subscription buys its ongoing allowance and features, so the difference is relevant only if you would not use those benefits.

If you expect to send frequently, examine the document workflow as well as the price. Staff time spent exporting, merging or locating files can matter more than the per-document cost of a busy office.

Three hundred pages a month

The listed Basic allowance is below 300 pages. Without a verified excess-page tariff, we cannot accurately price Basic plus 100 extra pages. Plus's 500-page allowance covers a 300-page workload under its applicable counting rules; its displayed annual equivalent is $24.99.

Check sending and receiving together, destination rates, packet caps and extras. A plan that fits 300 pages spread across many transmissions may still have a limit on one large packet. Obtain a current written quote for a workflow where those details matter.

Pros and tradeoffs

iFax has reasons to remain on a business shortlist:

  • It publishes apps across mobile and desktop platforms, which can suit staff working on different devices.
  • Plus offers a receiving number alongside sending, useful for continuing correspondence.
  • Its healthcare product advertises BAA support and a workflow for regulated documents.
  • Higher tiers describe tools for handling and organizing recurring fax work.

Those features can be more valuable than the lowest price for one document. The tradeoffs are the annual commitment in the checked pricing view, trial renewal responsibilities and the need to verify plan-specific limits rather than extrapolating from a marketing headline.

We have not tested its support response time, measured transmission reliability or assigned a star rating. A feature being advertised does not establish that it is enabled in every account.

Need to send an ordinary document? Review a one-time fax quote. $0.99 covers up to 10 pages, pay only if delivered.

Is iFax safe, legit and HIPAA compliant?

iFax publishes a healthcare product page describing encryption, access controls, audit logs and BAA support. The trial page specifically identifies Plus and Pro for its BAA offer. Treat these as vendor statements to evaluate with the actual agreement.

The cheapest BAA path supported by the checked plan-and-trial documentation is Plus at the displayed $24.99 annual equivalent. Confirm the signed agreement, annual invoice and covered workflow before using it for PHI. Another iFax platform page broadly refers to all paid plans; that broader claim is not a reason to assume Basic is eligible without account confirmation.

For ordinary documents, review the same practical questions you would ask of any cloud service: who can access your account, how files and notifications are handled, retention and deletion, and what happens when a number expires. Marketing security language does not replace your organization's assessment.

Trials, renewal and cancellation

The trial information describes a seven-day offer and card details for premium access. Offers can vary, so confirm the one actually presented to you. The terms describe automatic renewal and cancellation at least 24 hours before the trial ends or the current period renews, along with generally non-refundable payments subject to law and exceptions.

The billing FAQ directs web customers to Settings → Plan & Account → Cancel Plan. Apple, Google Play and Microsoft store purchases must be managed through the corresponding store. Use the receipt to identify which channel charged you.

Save needed documents and cancellation confirmation. If you need the number elsewhere, arrange and confirm any transfer before closing the account. Removing the app from your phone does not end a recurring payment agreement.

SingleFax's $0.99 ordinary tariff covers up to ten document pages, with $0 on failed delivery. A bank authorization may remain pending until release.

HIPAA sending is separate: eligible short sends start at $6.50 with the organization's BAA step. A continuing Standard plan with the HIPAA add-on is $10.80 monthly or $108 annually. Do not compare an ordinary consumer price with a regulated plan as though they were interchangeable.

When iFax is the better choice

iFax can fit when a team needs its published platform apps, already uses its workflow or wants to evaluate its healthcare and integration features. Existing subscriptions with available pages can also be a sensible place to send the next packet instead of opening another service.

Evaluate the product with your actual packet, recipient workflow and billing needs. A recurring inbox and organization tools serve a different purpose from a one-document checkout. Confirm the contractual details that matter before moving a business number or uploading regulated records.

Send one fax without starting a subscription

For a short ordinary packet, open SingleFax's send page, upload the actual files, enter the verified destination and inspect the pages. Review the quote and payment terms, complete checkout and keep the final transmission result.

An uploaded document or payment receipt is not a completed transmission. Check the final status before retrying so you avoid duplicate sends. Office acceptance and processing remain separate from fax delivery.

Other alternatives

Compare Fax.Plus for a free starter quota and subscriptions, HumbleFax for recurring US/Canada work under its fair-use terms, and eFax pricing for its Personal and Business paths. Use the dated official facts and your actual workload to choose among them.

Frequently asked questions

iFax advertises a limited trial, which is different from an ongoing free plan. Confirm the selected offer, card requirement, end date and renewal charge. Its current public pricing table lists paid Basic, Plus and Pro plans.
The rendered pricing page showed $12.49 per month with Paid Annually for 200 sending pages on 8 October 2026. This is an annual equivalent, not a verified month-to-month price.
The checked plan table describes Basic as sending only. Plus lists 500 pages, one number and sending and receiving. Verify your selected plan rather than assuming every tier includes a number.
Its healthcare page advertises BAA support, and the trial page names Plus and Pro for a free BAA. Obtain the agreement for the exact organization, plan and workflow before uploading PHI; do not infer that the cheapest ordinary plan is covered.
iFax's FAQ directs website customers to Settings, Plan & Account, then Cancel Plan. Apple, Google Play and Microsoft store purchases use the respective store's subscription controls. Save confirmation; deleting the app does not cancel billing.
No. Its terms describe advance payment, automatic renewal and generally non-refundable payments, subject to law and stated exceptions. Cancellation and refund requests are separate actions and depend on the billing channel.
It has a one-time fax marketing page, but the checked page did not establish a clear iFax packet price and payment terms for the comparison. Review the actual selected checkout rather than applying the annual subscription rate to one fax.
SingleFax starts at $0.99 for up to ten document pages, with no subscription and $0 on failure.
