eFax plans and prices

The table below uses the official US pricing page, including its published structured offer data, checked 8 October 2026. The site can redirect visitors to regional pricing. Annual prices are monthly equivalents of an annual commitment, not monthly subscriptions. Checkout promotions, tax, and selected add-ons can change the final total.

There is a discrepancy to check at checkout: the Business plan card lists $0.07 per extra page, while the same page's structured data also describes a $25 block of 500 extra pages. We have not treated these as interchangeable rates. Confirm which overage model applies to the plan you select.

The page lists additional Business users at $10/month and numbers at $5/month. A team's total therefore depends on more than the headline plan price. The current table also differs from older Plus, Pro, and Protect marketing pages; compare the exact product you are offered.

Fees, overage, and recurring billing

A subscription is useful when its included allowance matches work you actually do every month. It is less useful when you pay for idle months between a few occasional documents. Before signing up, identify your expected sending and receiving volume separately, then check how the plan counts both.

Look at the complete checkout total. Do not assume an introductory discount is the ongoing rate, and do not assume a setup fee is present merely because an old comparison mentions one. This guide does not add an unverified setup charge to eFax's published rate.

For additional pages, eFax's billing help describes a prepaid usage balance that can replenish automatically. That balance is separate from the base plan payment. Check the balance settings and the page-count rules for your selected product, especially if a fax is interrupted or unusually slow.

The customer agreement describes automatic renewal and plan-specific usage accounting. International routes may have different rates. A headline number of pages does not by itself tell you the total cost of a packet to a particular country.

For a fair comparison, count the number of fax transactions as well as the number of pages. Twenty five-page faxes are a different pay-per-fax bill from one 100-page packet, even though both contain 100 document pages. When you need a receiving number, compare a receiving plan rather than an outbound-only checkout.

eFax subscription cost and how to cancel

An eFax subscription is billed every month or year until you cancel: $18.99/month for Personal or $39.99/month for Business on monthly billing, or $189.96 and $399.96 per year on annual billing (US pricing page, checked 8 October 2026). Pages over the plan allowance are billed on top.

The current eFax cancellation guide, checked 8 October 2026, describes online cancellation through the billing area for eligible accounts. It directs annual-plan customers, accounts with multiple numbers or outstanding balances, and Corporate customers to support. Subscriptions bought through Apple must be canceled through Apple.

Save important faxes before closing an account because access to stored documents ends with closure. Keep the cancellation email and confirmation number. If you need to retain the fax number, arrange a transfer before canceling and verify that the receiving provider has completed the port.

A one-time SingleFax send has no subscription to cancel. Company subscriptions are a separate product with their own ongoing billing. Choose the product that matches the duration of your need, rather than signing up for a recurring plan solely because you have one deadline today.

Is eFax legit?

Yes. eFax is an established provider associated with Consensus Cloud Solutions, with consumer, business, and enterprise products. That supports treating it as a real service; it does not establish that every plan is the best value for every person.

Before adopting any provider for critical work, check that it supports your destination, document size, receiving workflow, retention needs, and required contract. Ask the recipient whether fax is the accepted submission method and save the resulting transmission evidence.

eFax vs SingleFax: cost by scenario

These calculations use eFax's standard monthly Personal rate, without a first-month promotion, setup charge, or tax. SingleFax examples assume short faxes. They are comparisons of the stated usage, not guarantees about every route or organization.

The receiving-plan rows compare monthly billing. If you want to commit annually, compare the published annual totals separately. A SingleFax lifetime number costs $97 once with starter credit; it is not unlimited fax usage. Incoming pages use credit after the included amount is exhausted.

For a receiving number needed only during a short project, the 30-day option costs $4.99. Keep it active long enough for a reply. If the sender is ready today, a free fax number receives faxes free for 24 hours with no card, unlike eFax's 7-day trial. It can be too short for an agency that takes days to process paperwork.

When eFax may be the better choice

An organization already using eFax integrations, numbers, and administrative processes may reasonably prefer continuity. Migration has real work: number transfer, user access, document retention, staff training, and integration testing. A lower headline price does not remove those requirements.

Enterprise teams may need negotiated capacity, procurement documents, account management, or specific system integrations. Confirm those directly with the vendor. For HIPAA work, obtain a BAA for the exact product and use appropriate access and routing controls; a plan's security marketing is not a substitute for the agreement.
