What is an online fax service?

An online fax service sends and receives faxes over the internet instead of a fax machine and a phone line. On SingleFax you upload a document in the browser, email it to send@fax.delivery, or message it on WhatsApp. A one-time send starts at $0.99 for up to 10 pages. A number is a separate product when someone needs to fax you back.

Are cloud-based fax services the same as online fax?

Yes. Cloud-based fax, online fax, and internet fax describe the same idea: the provider places the call to the recipient’s fax number, and you work from a browser or inbox. You do not keep an analog line. The migration steps for offices leaving copper are in the POTS sunset guide.

What is a digital fax service?

A digital fax service accepts a computer file (PDF, Office, or an image) and transmits it as a fax. SingleFax converts the file to PDF before sending. You still need the destination fax number. Delivery depends on the recipient’s line.

Is SingleFax an online fax provider?

Yes. SingleFax is the online fax provider for a one-time web fax ($0.99), a 30-day receive number ($4.99), a lifetime number ($97 / Pro $147), and company plans from $7.90/mo. This page is the overview. The checkout for a single send or a 30-day number is Send & Receive.

What is a web fax service?

A web fax service is online fax you start in a browser. Open Send & Receive, attach the file, enter the number, and pay $0.99 for up to 10 pages. No desktop software and no fax machine.

Do I need a monthly plan?

No. A one-time online fax does not require a subscription. Company plans (from $7.90/mo) are for teams with a dedicated number and a monthly page pool. If you only send a few documents a year, stay on pay-per-fax.

How much does online fax cost?

Sending is $0.99 for up to 10 billable pages, then about $0.08 per additional page (cap 100). A 30-day number is $4.99; the first received fax is included and extras use the same page schedule as send. Lifetime Basic is $97 and Pro is $147. HIPAA Secure send is separate: $6.50 for 1–10 pages and $10 for 11–100, with an electronic BAA. You see the quote before payment.

Can I use this cloud fax service for patient records?

Standard online fax is not the HIPAA path. Covered entities and business associates use HIPAA Secure Mode ($6.50 / $10) and accept an electronic BAA on the website before uploading PHI. Do not send PHI by email-to-fax, MCP, machine payments, or the public API.

Can we keep our fax number after the copper line is retired?

Often yes, by porting. Gather a recent carrier bill and a letter of authorization. Or start a new lifetime number ($97) and tell partners the new address. The POTS sunset guide walks through a parallel cutover.

Cloud, digital, and web fax

Searchers use different names for the same job. SingleFax covers all three from one provider. We do not publish a separate page for each synonym.

Cloud-based fax

Cloud-based fax services

The fax leaves your office over the internet. There is no copper phone line, ATA, toner, or machine on your side. Carriers are retiring POTS lines; a cloud fax keeps send and receive working after the jack goes dark.

Digital fax

Digital fax service

A digital fax is a file, not a paper stack. PDF, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, RTF, text, and images are converted to a fax-format PDF, then delivered to the destination number with a carrier receipt.

Web fax

A web fax service is the browser path: open the form, attach the file, enter the number, pay. Email-to-fax and WhatsApp are the same network when you are not at a desktop.
